NFL Fans, we are now less than two months away from Week 1 of the 2018-19 season! As the off-season comes to anend, veterans and rookies alike will soon get back into action as they prepare for another long, grueling season. Few things are ever guaranteed in the NFL. However, it seems that every year there are a few under-the-radar rookies who shatter expectations and play huge roles for their teams. Last year two 3rd round running backs stole the show. Kareem Hunt (86th overall) led the league in rushing yards while Alvin Kamara’s (67th overall) electric running won him Offensive Rookie of the Year. In 2016 Dak Prescott (135th overall) stepped in for an injured Tony Romo and led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record, bringing home a Pro-bowl selection and the Rookie of the Year award in the process.
This year all eyes are on superhuman Saquon Barkley to bring home the award. Although recent history has told us that might not be the case. I expect another mid-round diamond in the rough type player to steal the spotlight and take the league by storm.
